Preimplantation Genetic Testing PGT
PGT involves the removal of one or more cells from embryos before they are transferred. This is followed by testing of the cells to find out the number of chromosomes, using either NGS or array-CGH methods. If the cells are found to have an abnormal chromosome number, then the embryo is less likely to implant or the child may have a condition like Down’s Syndrome. In this way embryos can be screened in order to select the most viable embryos for embryo transfer.
Treatment Funding
NHS-funded treatment
Self-funded treatment
You may wish to fund your own treatment if your CCG does not fund IVF, or if you do not wish to wait for funding, or if you are not eligible for NHS funding.
We describe the treatment as ‘self-funded’ rather than ‘private’ because the treatment is exactly the same as for patients funded by the NHS. The charges we make are non-profit-making: they are at cost price. All income from self-funded patients is put back into the IVF programme.
