About Me

Dr Dimitri kalleas

HCPC, PhD

Dimitri has nurtured a passion for human reproduction and embryology since graduating in Genetics & Molecular Biology at University of Wolverhampton in 2008.

He joined a research team at Newcastle University working towards improving the treatment and understanding of infertility, where he obtained his PhD in Reproductive Biology in 2012. As a postdoctoral researcher at the same university, he was a key member of the team that developed novel IVF-based techniques to prevent the transmission of mitochondrial DNA disease.

Dimitri began his clinical training in embryology at St Mary’s NHS Hospital in Manchester, where he became HCPC registered. He then joined Guy’s NHS IVF unit in London as a senior embryologist where he became proficient in blastocyst biopsy.

Now at Beginnings ACU, Dimitri is committed to improve patient care and treatment outcomes by applying the latest evidence-based practice to his clinical work.
